Jo Donaldson was a reporter for the daily "Cumberland Times-News" for six years, primarily writing about Garrett County. She was also Public Affairs Officer for the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce. She won Mark Twain awards for best environmental story and best breaking news story.

Author Jo Donaldson writes both non-fiction and fiction, and dabbles in poetry. Jo recently completed her first novel, "Crissy's Blizzard" and is working on a second book in the series. Jo graduated from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College). She loved writing from a young age, creating poems as gifts for friends and relatives when she was a child, serving as Second Page editor of the high school newspaper, "The Owl" and receiving the Quill and Scroll Award.

Jo has three pieces in the anthology That One Left Shoe. Her latest with us is Mountain Musings, a collection of poems and stories inspired by her years in Garrett County. For more of her musings, see Jo's blog.
